EXPERT IN PILONIDAL SINUS SURGERY

Dr. Daniel Serralta

I was born in Madrid in 1979, where I grew up and studied medicine (University of Alcalá), with a break during which I was able to move to Marseille (France) to study at the University of Marseille for a year as part of the European Erasmus program. This experience allowed me not only to perfect the language, but also to get in touch with the different ways of doing and approaching medicine in another country. In addition to French, I am fluent in English and have some knowledge of Arabic.

After training as a General and Digestive System Surgeon at the Gregorio Marañón University Hospital, one of the most important in Spain, I worked for 9 years at the Infanta Leonor University Hospital. During these years I learned to value closeness and commitment as an essential element in the integral treatment of patients.

Since 2018 I have been working at the Hospital Universitario Infanta Sofía as Coordinator of the Colorectal Surgery Unit, which has allowed me to take a step further in clinical and management decision-making, both for patients and the rest of my colleagues in the Unit.

In addition, for some years I have been combining my activity in the public health system with a more personalized assistance at the San Rafael Hospital, and now at Innova Cirugía, a new adventure that I am undertaking together with Dr. Ortiz Johanson in order to provide our experience in the management of proctological diseases and in other fields of General Surgery, particularly in the surgical management of the Pilonidal Sinus (SP).
